Strong brands create connections that move their audience. For charities, that connection can create awareness, inspire support and help encourage vital funding. For TLC Essex, branded merchandise has become an important part of achieving those goals.
TLC Essex supplies teddy bears to NHS Children's A&E departments across Essex, where they are given to children who are frightened, distressed or traumatised during medical treatment. As a charity that relies on fundraising to continue its work, creating engaging solutions that supporters would want to donate towards and buy became an increasingly important priority.
The charity needed a partner that could understand its brand, work within budget constraints and deliver merchandise. We helped develop a growing range of branded products, managing the process from initial concepts through to production and delivery.
The project began with a detailed consultation to understand TLC Essex's mission, fundraising objectives and audience, allowing us to identify opportunities and concepts that aligned with the charity's values and brand identity.
We used precision CAD to design paintable teddy bear money boxes, ChuteTed with his own parachute and AeroTed with his own aeroplane. Concepts were translated into accurate digital models, enabling designs to be refined and assessed before production. Prototype samples were then created ensuring each product met both practical and aesthetic requirements.

Once designs had been approved, we managed the transition into manufacturing and production, overseeing every stage to ensure consistent quality, cost-effectiveness and a professional finish. The final range included supporter patches designed for customising jackets and bags and branded polo shirts and umbrellas.
By taking the time to understand TLC Essex's goals, strategy and audience, we created high-quality products that strengthened brand recognition and supported fundraising. This practical approach has helped the charity expand its product range while creating more opportunities to engage supporters and raise vital funds.
Lee Zetter, Technical Director at Logical Branding, said:
"The most effective branded merchandise does more than display a logo. It creates a connection between an organisation and its audience. With TLC Essex, our focus was on developing products that reflected the charity's values while remaining affordable and appealing to supporters. By taking a practical, collaborative approach, we've helped create merchandise that supports both fundraising and long-term brand recognition.
We're especially passionate about working with organisations that make a positive difference in their communities, and we're proud to play a small part in supporting TLC Essex's mission. They're exactly the kind of organisation we love working with because they align closely with our own values as a business."
The success of the relationship is reflected in the feedback from TLC Essex:
"Logical Branding has worked with us to develop a range of affordable branded merchandise, from the initial design through to production and supply. They have always been friendly, professional and easy to work with, taking the time to understand what we wanted and often going the extra mile to achieve it.
Logical Branding's merchandise has been consistently well made, attractively printed or engraved, competitively priced and delivered with excellent service.
Over the past few years, we've found the team at Logical Branding to be approachable, helpful and genuinely interested in helping us achieve the best result. Their support has made it easy for us to expand our fundraising merchandise, and we would have no hesitation in recommending them."
